Motorcyclist Ejected In Rear-End Route 17 Crash (Update) A 19-year-old motorcyclist from Moonachie was hospitalized after he was ejected during a rear-end crash early Tuesday with a Tesla on Route 17, authorities said. The May 7 morning rush was well underway when the motorcyclist rammed the other vehicle from behind just south of the busy Franklin Avenue intersection around 7:30 a.m. He was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center with injuries that didn't appear to be life-threatening, Hasbrouck Heights Police Lt. Man Dragged From Car By Bear After Fatal Western Mass Crash ID'd By Police A driver whose body was dragged away from a Hampshire County crash by a bear on Sunday, May 5, has been identified by police as a 31-year-old Western Massachusetts man, police said. Daniel Ducharme, of South Hadley, was ejected partially or fully from his Honda Civic just after 11 a.m. when he lost control of the vehicle, hit the guardrail multiple times, and crashed down an embankment on I-91 South, state police said. Trapped Construction Worker Dies In NJ Trench Tragedy: Police A construction worker was killed after he was trapped in a large hole in Kenilworth on the morning of Monday, May 6, authorities said. Around 9 a.m., the construction workers were attempting to install a storm drain in the back of the business on Monroe Avenue using an excavator when the man became trapped, Kenilworth police said. First responders attempted life saving measures but the worker, who has not been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene. The Occupational Health and Safety Administration said it is investigating.

Boy Pulls Knife, Robs Victim At Middle School On Long Island: Police An alleged robbery on a Long Island middle school’s soccer field has led to the arrest of a boy, police said. It happened on Thursday, May 2 in Uniondale, according to Nassau County Police. The juvenile robber — whose name and age have not been released — is alleged to have walked up to a 13-year-old on the soccer field of Turtle Hook Middle School, located at 975 Jerusalem Avenue.
